Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has praised Liverpool for how they’ve gone about winning the Premier League.

The ex-Chelsea boss, who has long been a rival of the Reds, was speaking ahead of his current side Tottenham’s game with Sheffield United.

Mourinho was quick to praise Jurgen Klopp as well as those above him at Anfield for allowing the manager patience in order to bring success to Liverpool.

Congrats, Jose. Only him (and Ian Wright) had the courage to predict that Liverpool would win the league. Still remember he said it to Company's face that Liverpool was the best team this season.

It's easier to trust if your name is Klopp. Mourinho has a huge question mark over his head. Past record does not guarantee future success.

This doesn't seem a good fit Mourinho will be gone before the end of next season

Since Klopp arrived at Liverpool there has been clear undeniable progress each season and he hasn't always been given money to spend and when he has it's usually because there was money available from big player sales. Mourinho is just trying to get a blank cheque from Levy so he can try to buy a trophy or two.

Next season I believe we should use the ready Ygs as back up for LB, Forward cos they will be more willing to sit on the bench and will also bring motivation without spending that much money and maybe promote Jones into the first team.

As a Liverpool fan I totally agree with Jose as for many years liver pool was not as good as other big clubs they had so many ups and downs through out the season they lost many times and even when klopp came at 1st Liverpool lost many games but also they keep smiling being trying to be better every matches they played and when they won the champions league there confidence boosted and they kept winning you know why because they were loosing and they know what loosing felt like and they have perfected that this in so many positive ways that they are champions now. Unlike Manchester united when Jose was there the player did not respect him as a manager and when they were loosing they blamed Jose and his way and in the end they sacked him , to be honest if Jose was still in united he could have made united more capable team then what they are now , see winning every game is not possible you'll need to have an atmosphere and the mentality which can only be achieved through experience of loosing and winning !

As a Liverpool fan since 1981, I do think that we sometimes give Jose too hard a time. He has been the manager of some important rivals and contributed to some heartache (Gerrard slip), as did we ('phantom goal", etc.), but he always understood what LFC was and paid the appropriate amount of respect. He said quite a while ago that even people "who do not love this club" (ie him) must admit that Anfield is something special and that if miracles can happen, they would happen at Anfield. Also, his comments after the Barca win at Anfield were pure class and very personal towards Klopp's influence (" this remontada has one name: Jurgen. The empathy with the players….."). He is a rival and it would be very weird if he loved Liverpool, but the respect was always there. Also, who doesn't respect what he did in 2004/5 in the PL? What a side he built then, what energy he brought to the Premier League. His team's efforts lifted the level of the other teams, much like Pep's City in 2018/19 lifted our level this season.
